Paediatric Counselling for Children & Families

Children’s emotional and behavioural challenges rarely exist in isolation.

At Calm Space Psychology, we provide one-on-one clinical counselling for babies, children, adolescents and their families, with support tailored to each child’s emotional world, developmental stage and family context.

Our work integrates psychological insight, evidence-based care and a calm, individualised approach to help children uncover, understand and work through emotions and behaviours in a meaningful and sustainable way.

Our Approach

We take a holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing.

This means caring to understand not only the child, but also the relationships, routines and broader context that shape their day-to-day life. We work collaboratively with parents and caregivers, and where appropriate, with other allied health professionals, to establish clear goals that guide ongoing support.

Our therapeutic approach draws on:

  • Developmental psychology

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Evidence-based therapeutic interventions

  • Best-practice clinical techniques

  • Parent and caregiver collaboration

We support children and families through a range of challenges, including:

  • Anxiety

  • Separation anxiety

  • Low mood and depression

  • Behavioural difficulties

  • Parenting support

  • Sleep disturbance

  • Developing healthy routines

  • Emotional regulation

  • Family and life transitions

We help children thrive by strengthening the foundations of wellbeing — including sleeping well, eating well and moving regularly — creating a calm space for emotional growth and therapeutic progress.

Appointments are available in clinic in Adelaide and online.
