The Calmer Bedtimes Sleep Course

A gentle, psychologist-led course for parents who are tired of bedtime being a battle.

When bedtime is the hardest part of your day, what do you do?

You've tried the routine. You've tried the sticker chart. You've tried staying calm for the fortieth minute in a row.

"Is this normal, or is something wrong?"

"Am I creating a bad habit by staying in the room?"

"I feel like I’ve tried everything and nothing works."

If any of that sounds familiar, you're not failing. You're just missing a piece of the picture most parents are never given.

Bedtime resistance is rarely just about sleep. It's about a nervous system that hasn't learned to settle yet, separation, temperament, and everything that's happened in your house since 7am that morning. Most sleep advice treats your child like a problem to be managed. This course is built to help you understand why they do what they do at bedtime, not just what to do about it.

What’s inside?

Eight modules, each building on the last, from understanding sleep itself through to building a plan that actually fits your family.

01 — How Sleep Actually Works
The science of sleep pressure, circadian rhythm, and sleep cycles, explained simply.

02 — Sleep and the Nervous System
Why a tired brain struggles to regulate, and what that means at bedtime.

03 — What's Normal?
Age and stage expectations, and how your child's personality shapes their sleep.

04 — Understanding Sleep Associations
What they are, why they aren't a mistake, and how they can be gently shifted.

05 — Why Your Child Resists Bedtime
The real reasons behind the resistance, starting with separation and stillness.

06 — Parent Regulation
Why your own calm matters as much as any routine, and how to find it.

07 — Navigating Change
What to expect when you start making shifts, and how to hold steady through it.

08 — Building Your Plan
A step-by-step framework for a sleep plan built around your child and your family.

✺ Bedtime in your house feels harder than it should, and you're not sure why
✺ You've tried strategies that worked for a while, then stopped working

✺ You're ready to make a change, but want to do it gently

Why I created this course?

I'm Brooke Michell. I'm a registered Psychologist with a Masters in Clinical Psychology, a Sleep Consultant, and mum to four gorgeous kids of my own.

Before I became a parent, I studied Clinical Psychology, and my research focused on children and sleep. I saw how much it shaped everything else in a family's life. Mood, patience, connection, all of it.

I created this course because I wanted to bring what I share with families at Calm Space to more people, in a way that fits into your own home, at your own pace.

What's included?

  • 8 modules of video lessons

  • Practical resources and printable guides for each module

  • A step-by-step plan template to build your own approach

  • Access at your own pace, from your own home

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a quick fix?
No, and I won't pretend it is. This course helps you understand what's really going on at bedtime and gives you a framework to build a plan around your own child that fits in with your family. Change takes a little time and consistency.

My child is a baby. Is this still relevant?
Yes. The course covers sleep across all child age stages, from infancy all the way up to the high school years.

Is this a replacement for individual support?
Not necessarily. Some families want a personalised plan on top of the course, and a 1:1 Paediatric Sleep Support Package is available for that.

Not Ready to Enrol Yet?

That's okay. A lot of parents want to understand more before making a decision, and that's exactly what my free guide is for.

Beyond Bedtime Battles: A Psychologist's Guide for Tired Parents walks you through why bedtime resistance happens and a few things you can try tonight. No cost, just add your email address so I can send it over.

Bedtime doesn't have to be something you brace yourself for every night. If you're ready to understand what's really going on, and build a plan that fits your family, I'd love to have you inside the course.
